Our Path to Purpose

A beautiful testament to the power of connection, compassion, and shared purpose

Their initial meeting in 2004, through Louise Duchesneau’s volunteer role in a special needs ministry and Griselle Zeno’s search for support for her son, laid the foundation for a partnership grounded in trust and a common vision. Louise brought a heart for service, and Griselle’s personal experiences of raising children with special needs highlighted the critical need for community services that could support families like hers.

As their friendship deepened, so did their commitment to expanding services for families of children with special needs. When Griselle welcomed her second child, who also had significant medical and developmental challenges, the urgency to create comprehensive support systems for these families grew. This shared drive led to the creation of Not Shaken, Inc., an organization born out of their mutual dedication to making a difference in the lives of families navigating similar journeys.

Not Shaken, founded on August 26, 2019, faced an initial setback when the COVID pandemic hit, but it continued moving forward. As we work through the process of obtaining 501(c) status, it is exciting to think about the future and the impact we will have on families with special needs. That day will mark a significant milestone for the organization.
